New York State has decreed 2009 a year of celebration. ExploreNY400.com celebrates the 400th anniversary of the discoveries of the great explorers Henry Hudson and Samuel de Champlain and the 200th anniversary of Robert Fulton’s invention of the first practical steamboat.

In 2009, these events will be commemorated in celebrations from New York City to Quebec. Here in Columbia County, the City of Hudson plans to draw attention to its special status as the Namesake City.

This regional event provides a golden opportunity for businesses to enhance their visibility, promote their services to potential customers, and make a contribution to the community.



Sponsorships provide a great opportunity for your business to be involved with what promises to be a memorable celebration, drawing visitors from near and far. Our marketing campaign will reach as far as Greene and Ulster Counties to the west, Albany County to the north, Dutchess County to the south, and the Berkshires in the east. The City of Hudson events are also included in the promotion efforts of the State of New York and Columbia County’s Tourism Department, both of which reach even farther.

We will promote these events via radio, television, and print and electronic media, using ads, posters, banners, press releases, calendar listings and rack cards, and our website.
